One of the most mythical royals in the history books is definitely the French Queen Marie Antoinette. She became the Queen of France in May 1774 when her husband was crowned as King Louis XVI of France. They held their royal titles until 1792, one year before they got executed.

On November 12, Sotheby’s in Geneva had the enormous honor of auctioning out some of Marie Antoinette’s jewelry. The attention was huge, and so also the number of bidders.

The finest lot was arguably the 18thcentury pearl and diamond pendant with an estimate of $1,000,000–2,000,000 USD. The hammer price ended at the astonishing amount of $36,000,000 USD!
