Linde Werdelin x Anil Arjandas x WatchAnish Event in Marbella
Summer has ended, and I get many questions from my friends asking what I did. When I say that most of it I spent working they don’t really understand why there’s a big happy smile on my face… That’s until I show them the photos and they remember that I don’t really have an office desk job And in fact, my favourite memories this Summer come from a work trip (if you can even call it work) that our team had in Marbella beginning of August! This article is not going to review any watches or take you to a manufacturer factory, it’s about those memories we made and the fun times we had with Linde Werdelin and our friend Anil Arjandas (among many others) in Marbella!
The reason for our voyage to Spain was the opening of a boutique that would sell and showcase Linde Werdelin watches together with Anil Arjandas’s jewelry, both of which you will see in this post later on. The event was planned well in advanced, and our team was invited to host it together with Jorn Werdelin (co-founder of LW) and Anil Arjandas himself, as well as have a great time, check out the watches and spread the word about the new boutique opening.
When I arrived to Marbella our team was already there; Anish (that guy who created this blog), Steven (our abnormally tall Chinese business developer and manager of @WatchAnishAsia), James and Harry (our super awesome photo and videographers) were all very busy
working chilling by the beach, trying out each other’s watches and eating seafood with Anil, Jorn, Alex (the European distributor of Linde Werdelin) and the beautiful ladies (Ela, Eloise and Ana), while I (Ed, the Russian guy with hipster glasses) was trying to steal somebody’s LW to put on my wrist and do some wristshots
Throughout the day our activities included but were not limited to: group selfies, pushup posing for the camera, shopping, car spotting and tanning.
After all of that we’ve decided to pay a visit to the boutique before the grand opening (next evening). Anil and Ela rolled up with style and some serious wristgame (wearing matching LW Spidospeed Gold watches and rose gold Anil Arjandas bracelets). We all hit the boutique to see the jewelry and horology collection in stock and get acquainted with the staff, who all turned out to be very positive and cool people. Obviously we went out that night and visited one of the coolest restaurants in town – Los Banditos.. (Steven and I had a less pleasant experience after, when we decided to check out the local Chinese place).
As the next day started we chilled by the swimming pool at our hotel to have breakfast, do some underwater shooting and meet our old time friend of the gang Kristian Haagen, who was kind of surprised that I tattooed the WatchAnish logo on my shoulder Being the watch geeks we are the main topic of our conversation was horology and I had a pleasure of checking out Kristian’s special Spidospeed with a very distinctive caseback and a great story behind it. After our interesting conversation we all moved to the yacht that was waiting for us in the port. We were joined by a good friend of the brand (LW that is) Jon Olson who showed up with his Spidospeed Gold Black, and then we all had a little boat party while the venue for the evening event was getting ready…
After a quick change of clothes (and hours of Anish applying his hair wax) we finally moved out of the hotel to meet the guests and other hosts of the event. Needless to say it was really lots of fun and interesting to talk to some Linde Werdelin collectors and other media representatives who are all fans of the 2 brands joining forces that evening. Actually all the talks about the LW watches and maybe the fact that I got to wear them so much and get emotionally attached to the brand resulted in me buying an Oktopus Moon Tattoo for myself – a watch I still love and don’t think will ever get bored of:)
After the event at the boutique our team went for a really nice dinner back at the beach and then went out to explore Marbella’s nightlife.
Next morning began with a tough packing-up process but took a much nicer turn when we all gathered around the pool for breakfast, and I got to throw Anish in the salt water with his passport and money still in the pockets Unfortunately for me – my flight back to reality was scheduled at 4PM, so I had to leave the party at noon, but the guys had a great time in the afternoon jetskiing, swimming and testing the Oktopus models underwater.
Honestly, I love my job, and mostly not even because we all get to travel around the world and see nice watches and places, but because I get to spend so much time with people who share my passion and interests, and are so easy for me to get along with! Hopefully you all had a great time reading this post and I did not overload you with excitement and wristcandy! Have a great day and if you want to learn more about the 2 brands that hosted the event with us check out their websites!
